Olympiacos target Sabah defender Steve Solvet amid Saudi interest

Greek football giants Olympiacos are interested in signing Sabah defender Steve Solvet as they look to strengthen their squad.

As reported by İdman.Biz, the Piraeus-based club are preparing to make a move for the 30-year-old centre-back, who has attracted interest from several teams.

Olympiacos and Saudi Arabian side Al-Khaleej are both reportedly considering a move for Solvet in January, with the Greek club determined to beat their rivals to his signature.

Solvet's contract with Sabah expires in the summer of 2027, meaning he will be eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club from January. However, the Baku-based side are working to extend his current deal and retain one of their key defensive players.

The 191cm-tall Guadeloupean defender joined Sabah on a free transfer from French club Martigues in the summer of 2025. Earlier in his career, he also spent time within the Strasbourg and Dijon football systems.

Solvet has featured in both of Sabah's matches in the main phase of the UEFA Champions League this season, playing a total of 163 minutes.

The Azerbaijani club made an impressive start to their European campaign with a 2-0 victory over Czech side Slavia Prague on October 13, before suffering a narrow 2-1 defeat against Borussia Dortmund on October 20.

His performances on the European stage have added to his growing profile, with Olympiacos now reportedly considering a move to secure his services.
