Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique has expressed his satisfaction with his team's position at the top of Ligue 1, insisting that maintaining their lead remains a key objective despite the pressure that comes with it.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing PSG's official website, the Spanish manager reflected on his side's strong start to the season and highlighted the importance of maintaining momentum.
"That has always been the objective, right from the very first day. It's our favourite position in the table! Of course, it's great to start the season this way. We're only in Matchweek 9, so it's still early days," Luis Enrique said.
"Being in this position creates a certain amount of pressure, but at the same time, it motivates us to keep winning and stay at the top. Now it's important to continue in the same direction and make the most of this moment."
The PSG manager also praised his team's collective spirit following their match against Lyon, particularly highlighting the contributions of players coming off the bench.
"For the team, and for the players themselves, it's extremely important that those who come on as substitutes score goals and provide assists. It shows who we are and what our DNA is all about. That's important for us and for our supporters," he added.
PSG currently lead the Ligue 1 standings with 17 points from eight matches.
The reigning French champions are aiming to maintain their domestic dominance, with Luis Enrique emphasising that squad depth and contributions from every player will be crucial throughout the campaign.
