Idman.biz reports that Azerbaijani taekwondo player Gashim Magomedov (58 kg) said this in his statement to journalists about winning a license for the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games.
The athlete, who won the qualifying round of the "Grand Slam" held in Wuxi, China, and the Champions Series, said he was happy: "I am very happy to have won the award. It has been a very difficult year. But in the end we got a successful result. I'm just doing my job. I would like to thank my coach and the federation for their constant support. We reached the maximum target for this year. I hope that I will perform successfully at the Olympics."
The 24-year-old taekwondo player said that he will resume his preparations after resting for a while: "I will rest for now. I think this is also necessary. Then we will go to the training camp in South Korea. We will prepare for the Summer Olympic Games."
It should be noted that Gashim Magomedov is the first taekwondo player to qualify for the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games as a member of the Azerbaijan national team.
