Rustam Bagirli, the Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Taekwondo Federation, has resigned from his position.
Idman.biz, citing Qafqazinfo, reports that Bagirli stepped down of his own accord. The federation has officially confirmed the resignation.
In addition to Bagirli, the team doctor, Ruslan Sharifov, has also left his role, also by personal request.
While the official reason for their departure has not been disclosed, unconfirmed reports suggest financial issues may have played a role. However, the federation has denied these claims.
Rustam Bagirli was appointed Secretary General two years ago.
