An assassination attempt has been made on Russian MMA fighter Timur Khizriev in Makhachkala, Dagestan.
Security camera footage revealed that the attack was carried out by two armed individuals, Idman.biz reports.
The assailants shot the athlete from behind before fleeing the scene in a white Priora.
Initial reports indicate that Khizriev sustained around five gunshot wounds to the shoulder, wrist, and chest.
His condition is reported to be stable, with no threat to his life.
