7 adults and 13 youth athletes participated in the taekwondo competition.
According to İdman.biz, Mamed Abdullayev, head coach of the national youth team, told journalists at the welcoming ceremony of the athletes at Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
The head coach said that for the first time a gold medal was won in taekwondo in the Olympic weight category: "Of course, this success belongs to all of us. All our athletes achieved good results. On this occasion, I congratulate the Azerbaijan Taekwondo Federation."
