As the Mingachevir Regatta 2024 kicks off, Azad Gozalov, head of the Central Aran Regional Youth and Sports Department, shared his excitement about the growing interest in rowing among Azerbaijan's youth. Speaking ahead of the international competition, which includes rowing, kayaking, and canoeing, Gozalov emphasized the positive trends in the sport.
"Currently, the young and teenagers are showing a remarkable interest in rowing. This enthusiasm reflects the growing attention and support for sports in Azerbaijan. The organization of events like this regatta not only showcases our athletic talent but also emphasizes our tradition of friendship and cooperation through sport. I want to extend my gratitude to everyone involved in making this tournament happen, and I wish all the athletes the best of luck," Gozalov remarked.
Farhad Aliyev, General Secretary of the Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation (AKAF), also shared information about the competition and extended his best wishes to the athletes participating in this international regatta.
