Some prize winners of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games were left without medals.

Timothee Carlay, the Olympic champion in the French team, was not awarded. Although he celebrated the championship on the podium, he was left without a medal.
The reason for this is the rules of competitions. The point is that each team orders 12 volleyball players and 1 reserve player for the Olympics. That 13th volleyball player must appear at least once to receive a medal. The head coach of France, Andrea Cani, did not give Carley a second chance during the Olympics. That's why he didn't get a medal. During the award ceremony, Carley's teammate Trevor Kleveno, who was happy without a medal, hung his award around his neck.
He was not the only winner of the Olympics without a medal. Kyle Ensing, the reserve player of the USA team, also did not get the chance to get a bronze medal.
