Georgian fighter and UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria has expressed his desire to face Russian fighter Islam Makhachev at a UFC event scheduled to take place at the White House.
Idman.Biz reports that the historic UFC tournament will be held for the first time at the U.S. presidential residence on June 14, 2026, in celebration of the 250th anniversary of American independence.
“I want to fight Islam Makhachev at the White House. It would be one of the biggest fights in UFC history. No one has ever fought for a third belt. Islam has completely dominated his previous weight class and moved up — that’s why this would be massive, a true blockbuster,” Topuria said in an interview with Giorgi Kokiashvili.
Meanwhile, Islam Makhachev is set to defend his title in a UFC welterweight championship bout against Australian Jack Della Maddalena on November 16 at UFC 322 in New York, USA.
