Azerbaijani judokas have stopped competing in team competitions

Today in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, team competitions were held in the European Championship among junior judokas.

Idman.biz reports, 17 countries competed for medals in the championship.

Azerbaijan was represented by 11 athletes in team competitions. Azerbaijani team performed unsuccessfully in the first match. Azerbaijani judokas lost to the Netherlands team with a score of 1:4.

After that, Azerbaijan team, which participated in consolation matches, won against Italy (4:1), but lost against Poland (3:4).

The team consists of boys Farid Garayev, Nihad Rahimov (both 60 kg), Mehdi Abbasov (81 kg), Ali Gazimammadov (90 kg), Eyvazli Huseyn and Subhan Akhundov (both +90 kg), girls Diana Eldarova, Nurana Hajizada (each two 48 kg), Aytan Verdiyeva, Vusala Hajiyeva (both 63 kg) and Melek Bayramli (+63 kg) took place.

Azerbaijani team won 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals in individual competitions.
