The veteran football player spoke about the Legends Cup match dedicated to the mini-football world championship to be held in Baku. He commented on the victory of the Premier League Coaches team he played for: “It is very good to hold such events. During the match, I once again felt that we have grown too old, we need to pay more attention to ourselves. It was a great pleasure to play again with people with whom we have been on the same field for years.”
Recalling that he played as an opponent against Gurban Gurbanov in the match that took place in the XXXV round of the Misli Premier League, Bagirov emphasized that being a teammate with him in this match was an interesting moment: “Mr. Gurban is our older brother. We have learned a lot from him. Even now, you can learn something from Gurbanov. It was interesting to play with him again. Gurban Gurbanov is one of the important figures of Azerbaijani football.”
The match pitted the Premier League Coaches against the Neftchi 2000s. The match ended with a 1:1 score and the Premier League Coaches won the penalty shootout with a score of 3:2. The winning team was presented with the Legends Cup.
