Nine Azerbaijani clubs have met the necessary requirements to participate in European competitions.
Idman.biz reports that this was confirmed during a meeting of AFFA’s Licensing Commission.
Of the 10 clubs competing in the Misli Premier League, nine submitted applications to enter continental tournaments. The applications from Araz-Nakhchivan, Qarabag, Neftchi, Sabah, Sumgayit, Turan Tovuz, and Zira were approved and licenses were granted. However, three of these clubs will ultimately miss out on participation, with Neftchi and Sumgayit already having lost their chances.
Three teams — Shamakhi, Kapaz, and Sabail — did not apply for a European license at all.
Additionally, two teams have received licenses for women’s European competitions: Neftchi and Sumgayit.
