Azerbaijan's Neftçi have signed young Başakşehir defender Albert Ajua Gomez.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing Spor Depor, Neftçi have secured the 20-year-old centre-back on loan with an option to make the move permanent.
Born on July 28, 2006, Gomez is a Gambian footballer who stands 1.89 metres tall. His primary position is centre-back, although he can also operate as a left-back.
Gomez joined Başakşehir's U-19 team from Gambian side Falcons FC in 2025. According to the Turkish Football Federation, his contract with the Istanbul club runs until June 30, 2028.
In March 2026, the defender was sent on loan to the Dinamo Tbilisi system in Georgia.
Gomez has made 16 appearances for Başakşehir U-19, starting every match and playing a total of 1,440 minutes. He received one yellow card during those appearances.
The move gives Neftçi another young option in defence as the Baku club continue to strengthen their squad for the 2026/27 season.
