Barcelona forward Raphinha believes his teammate Lamine Yamal should win the 2026 Ballon d'Or.
As reported by İdman.Biz, Raphinha highlighted Yamal's individual numbers, team achievements and influence on the pitch when explaining why he considers the Spain international deserving of the award.
"I have no doubts. Lamine Yamal should win the Ballon d'Or. It depends on individual numbers, team trophies, talent, charisma and many other factors. Lamine has all of that. His results are incredible, and not only from last season. Three trophies, including the World Cup," Raphinha was quoted as saying by Fabrizio Romano.
Yamal played a key role for both Barcelona and Spain during the period considered for the award, adding the 2026 FIFA World Cup title to his list of major honours.
The 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony is scheduled to take place in London on October 26.
