This was said by Jeyhun Sultanov, a former football player of the Azerbaijan national team, who was a guest of the Idman Bizde program.
The 44-year-old expert commented on the changes in AFFA. He said that football players were expected to be underrepresented in the Executive Committee: "We did not know who would be represented in the committee. UEFA and FIFA have decided that there should be a woman in the structure. This is normal. There are 2 football players in the Executive Committee. I will say it clearly so that no one will be offended by me. I would not want Gurban Gurbanov to be in the Executive Committee. Because there will be criticism in the course of the situation. If decisions are not made correctly, Mr. Gurban will be criticized. But maybe they have stepped into this business in a big planned way."
Sultanov also spoke about those elected to the post of vice president: "I can't say anything about the vice presidents right now. I know all of them, I respect them, I know their abilities. We will see how good they will be in football. Time will tell."
It should be noted that Sarkhan Hajiyev will be the executive vice president of AFFA, while Elshad Nasirov, Konul Mehtiyeva, and Balakishi Gasimov will be the vice presidents.
