European football action on September 15 will be focused on England, where five matches in the third round of the League Cup are scheduled.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the standout fixture will take place at Anfield, where Liverpool host Tottenham. Both teams head into the match after goalless draws in the Premier League, with the Merseyside club held by Fulham and Spurs sharing the points with Everton.
Tottenham's attacking problems have been particularly evident at the start of the season. Roberto De Zerbi's side have failed to score in their opening four Premier League matches.
Liverpool are expected to rotate their squad amid a demanding schedule. Andoni Iraola has confirmed that Giorgi Mamardashvili will start in goal, making his first appearance of the season. Joe Gomez is also available again, while Conor Bradley, Federico Chiesa, Hugo Ekitike and Giovanni Leoni remain sidelined.
Tottenham will be without Sandro Tonali, Dejan Kulusevski, Pedro Porro and Richarlison, although Destiny Udogie could return. Another intriguing storyline surrounds Andy Robertson, with the former Liverpool defender potentially facing his old club for the first time since moving to Tottenham in the summer.
Another major fixture will be played at Portman Road, where Ipswich host reigning English champions Arsenal. Mikel Arteta's side have made a perfect start to the Premier League season with four wins, while they also defeated Manchester City 3-0 in the Community Shield and Napoli 1-0 in the Champions League.
Arteta is expected to use the League Cup tie to give opportunities to players who have had limited minutes so far. Ipswich beat Leicester 3-1 in the previous round and will now attempt to reach the last 16 of the competition for only the second time in 16 years.
Arsenal, meanwhile, have not lifted the League Cup since 1993. The Gunners reached last season's final but suffered a 2-0 defeat to Manchester City.
Elsewhere, West Ham face Fulham after the two sides eliminated Southampton 4-1 and Wimbledon 3-0 respectively in the previous round. Reading host Brentford, who opened their League Cup campaign with an emphatic 6-1 victory over Birmingham, while Peterborough take on Barnsley after beating Watford 5-1.
