Sabah defender Rahman Dashdamirov has spoken about the team's approach following their 3-0 victory over Shafa in the fifth round of the Azerbaijan Premier League.
As reported by İdman.Biz, Dashdamirov said Sabah were able to take advantage of their opportunities despite facing a well-prepared opponent.
"We played well. Our opponents were also well prepared for the match against us. We took our chances and secured the victory. I congratulate my teammates and our fans," he said.
Asked how Sabah find motivation to return to domestic competition after playing in the Champions League, the Azerbaijani defender stressed that the team's approach does not change depending on the opponent.
"We play the way we always do. There is nothing different. We prepare seriously for every opponent. It makes no difference whether it is Manchester United, Shafa or another team. We approach every match with the same level of seriousness," Dashdamirov said.
The defender was also asked about the criticism he received following Sabah's Champions League match against Manchester United.
"To be honest, I didn't see most of it. But if there was criticism, that's normal. I try to avoid mistakes and work on the mistakes I make. I will try not to repeat them in future matches," he added.
Sabah's 3-0 victory over Shafa came after the Baku club's Champions League encounter with Manchester United, highlighting the team's ability to quickly switch its focus back to the domestic campaign.
