India to host the 2025 Chess World Cup

The Chess World Cup will be held in India.

Idman.biz reports that the decision was made at a FIDE Council meeting held in Batumi.

The tournament will take place from October 31 to November 27, though the host city has not yet been determined.

The top three players in the World Cup, which will feature high-rated chess players, will qualify for the Candidates Tournament.

Three Azerbaijani chess players, Rauf Mammadov, Riad Samadov, and Ahmad Ahmadzada, will compete in the World Cup. Nijat Abasov will also participate as a semifinalist of the last World Championship.
