Seven Azerbaijani players feature in September FIDE Top 100

FIDE has released the new chess rating list.

Seven Azerbaijani players are featured in the Top 100 for September, Idman.biz reports.

Once again, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov holds the best position among Azerbaijani players. The grandmaster, who dropped five places, is now 16th with 2741 points.

Teimour Radjabov (2692) fell to 38th, giving way to one rival, while Rauf Mammadov (2651) also dropped five places to 70th. Eltaj Safarli (2630) moved from 100th to 99th.

The list is led by Magnus Carlsen of Norway with 2839 points.

In the women’s rankings, Azerbaijan’s top representative is Gunay Mammadzada, who advanced one place to 51st with 2390 points.

Ulviyya Fataliyeva (2385) rose 13 places, and Govhar Beydullayeva (2368) moved up 2 places, ranking 58th and 72nd, respectively.

The women’s rating list is led by Hou Yifan of China with 2609 points.
