Azerbaijani 13-year-old chess player defeated the world's second-place player - VIDEO

The World Rapid Championship among teams was held in London, the capital of England.

Freedom team, led by Azerbaijani champion Rauf Mammadov, won the championship's bronze medal with 17 points, Idman.biz reports.

Rauf Mammadov, who participated in six games during the competition, won two victories, one draw and three defeats.

Generation XYZA, led by Shahriyar Mammadyarov, finished the competition in 8th place with 15 points. Mammadyarov won eight victories in 12 games.

The victory of 13-year-old Azerbaijani chess player Khagan Ahmed, who played for the Turkish team in the 5th round of the World Blitz Championship, dominated the agenda.

Khagan Ahmed, who has a FIDE rating of 2290, attracted attention by defeating Hikaru Nakamura (USA, 2804), who is second in the world ranking.

Azerbaijani chess player, who outplayed his opponents in nine out of 13 games in the blitz competition on the same day, proved that his victories were not accidental.
