These remarks were made by Farid Gayibov, Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, during the Federation’s latest conference, Idman.biz reports.
He praised the work of the Federation in recent years, emphasizing its importance:
“The members of the Chess Federation are very dear to me. Of course, all sports federations are important, but the achievements of the Chess Federation in recent times are especially noteworthy. Whenever we share our comments or suggestions with them, they respond with great understanding — and that’s incredibly important.”
Gayibov also commended Mahir Mammadov for building a strong team around him and wished continued success to the Federation in its future endeavors.
