Today, the European Championship among young boxers will start in Poreč, Croatia.
Idman.biz reports that the Azerbaijani national team will test its strength in the 10-day competition.
Our team will be represented by 11 boxers. The coaching staff of Poreč has Bilalhabashi Nazarov (48 kg), Zidan Khumbatov (51 kg), Omar Aslanli (54 kg), Mahammadali Ashuraliyev (57 kg), Mahammadali Gasimzade (60 kg), Ibrahim Zeynalov (63.5 kg), Abbasgulu Shadlinski (67 kg), Ziya Hasanov (71 kg), Lala Madatova (48 kg), Gizbes Iskander (60 kg) and Emily Rzayeva (66 kg) will have a chance.
The team will be led by Rovshan Huseynov, a member of the Board of Directors of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation. Emil Gurbanaliyev, the chairman of the judges' committee, will be among the referees.
It should be noted that 376 (253 boys, 123 girls) boxers from 35 countries are expected to participate in the competition.
