The president of Makhachkala Dinamo Haji Hajiyev commented on the candidacy of Kurban Berdyev for the post of head coach of the Azerbaijan national team.
Idman.biz reports that he said that he did not talk about it with the coach of the team.
Hajiyev noted that the head coach of Dinamo will decide on this issue himself: "What can I say about the Azerbaijan national team? I work in Makhachkala and I have no idea what is happening in the Azerbaijan Football Federation. There was no conversation between us. I am not going to discuss this with Berdyev or anyone else. He has his own vision. If he wants, he can go to Azerbaijan. This is his right. As for Berdyev's contract with Dinamo, it does not reflect anything. We did not close it to ourselves."
It should be noted that Kurban Berdyev has been the head of Dinamo since July 2023. The team leads the Russian 1st League with 37 points.
