“I came to Baku to win”.
It was stated by the winner of the Baku Marathon 2025 Atash Sezgin in his statement to journalists.
Turkish athlete shared his impressions of the victory. The athlete, who covered a distance of 21 km, said that he expected a successful result from himself when participating in the race: “I have been running marathons for years, so I am used to long distances. Therefore, I did not have much difficulty. The wind slightly hindered our running, but it did not cause any serious problems”.
The athlete said that the race was organized at a high level: “This is my first time in Baku. I knew I would win. I have won many times in various competitions before. I had heard interesting opinions about Baku and I really wanted to come here. There is a great atmosphere here. I would like to thank everyone who supported me”.
Baku Marathon 2025, which has been held since 2016 at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, aims to support the development of sports and promote a healthy lifestyle.
