Azerbaijan Greco-Roman wrestling national team was 1st in Croatia

Zagreb Open held in Croatia has ended.

Idman.biz reports that on the last day of the competition, the prize winners in Greco-Roman and women's wrestling were announced.
The Azerbaijani national team has successfully completed the test in Zagreb. Our Greco-Roman wrestlers won the first place in the team score.
The national team of Azerbaijan scored 95 points in the classics of 36 teams. Azerbaijan managed to overtake the closest followers, Hungary and Turkiye. 28 of the 36 participating teams scored points.

Our freestyle wrestling team, which finished the fight earlier, was the 4th. The Azerbaijani team scored 54 points.

In total, the Azerbaijani national team won two gold and five bronze medals in Zagreb. Ulvu Ganizade (725 kg) and Sanan Suleymanov (77 kg) won championships in Greco-Roman wrestling, and Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) won "bronze". Aliabbas Rzazade and Nureddin Novruzov (both 61 kg), Jabrayil Gadjiyev (74 kg) and Alyona Kolesnik (59 kg) were third in women's wrestling.

The national team of Azerbaijan took the 6th place in the medal ranking. Having won 10 medals, Iran surpassed everyone in this indicator - 4 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze. Ukraine won 7 (4, 1, 2), China won 9 (3, 5, 2) awards. USA managed to surpass Azerbaijan with 13 (2, 4, 7) and Georgia 7 (2, 2, 3) medals.

It should be noted that members of 26 teams managed to win medals in Croatia.
