Haji Aliyev suffers second defeat in RAF

Decorated Azerbaijani wrestler Haji Aliyev has competed in his second bout in the professional Real American Freestyle (RAF) league.

As reported by İdman.Biz, the 35-year-old took part in RAF 13 in Miami, USA.

Aliyev faced American wrestler Jacori Teemer in a lightweight bout and suffered a 9-6 defeat. The match marked the 26-year-old Teemer's debut in RAF.

The American controlled the opening period. After the first minute passed without either wrestler scoring, Aliyev was put on a 30-second activity clock, allowing Teemer to claim the opening point. Late in the period, the Azerbaijani attempted a leg attack, but Teemer successfully defended and extended his advantage to 3-0.

Teemer increased his lead to 5-0 in the second period before Aliyev responded strongly, scoring four points in a single sequence to close the gap to 5-4. However, the three-time world champion was unable to complete the comeback, with Teemer maintaining his advantage to secure a 9-6 victory.

The result leaves Aliyev with two defeats from his first two appearances in the promotion. He made his RAF debut at RAF 10 in June, losing 9-5 to Puerto Rico representative Sebastian Rivera.

In the RAF 13 main event, Colby Covington retained the RAF Crossover Championship by defeating Belal Muhammad via technical superiority, 10-0.

Khamzat Chimaev also claimed a dominant victory in the co-main event, beating Gilbert Burns 15-4.
