Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has responded to praise from Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone ahead of their UEFA Champions League Matchday 4 encounter.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing Spanish newspaper AS, the Argentine manager described Kane as a role model for other footballers and said the England international fully deserved to win the Ballon d'Or.
Kane expressed his appreciation for the comments, describing Simeone as one of the finest coaches in modern football.
"He is one of the best coaches of our time. Receiving such praise from him is a great honor for me," Kane said.
The Bayern forward also reflected on his journey to winning the prestigious individual award, acknowledging that his career had included difficult periods.
"After I won the Ballon d'Or, the reaction was incredible. My journey may have been different from those of other winners of this award, and there were some very difficult moments along the way.
"But through determination and hard work, I managed to achieve what I have today. Simeone will do everything possible to stop me and the entire team. We expect a tough encounter, but I really appreciate his kind words," the striker added.
Atletico Madrid will host Bayern Munich today, November 3, in the fourth round of the Champions League league phase.
The encounter will see Kane attempt to continue his impressive form against a side managed by one of Europe's most experienced coaches.
