Liverpool are planning to strengthen their left-back position as the club looks to bring in additional competition for Milos Kerkez, whose inconsistent performances have raised concerns.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing Spanish outlet El Nacional, the Merseyside club have identified five potential transfer targets.
The shortlist includes Lewis Hall of Newcastle United, Federico Dimarco of Inter Milan, Malik Diouf of Brentford, Alvaro Carreras of Real Madrid and Maximiliano Araujo of Sporting CP.
According to the report, Liverpool could begin negotiations for one of these players as early as the January transfer window.
The club's management is reportedly keen to increase competition on the left side of defence and improve the team's overall defensive stability.
Liverpool currently sit fifth in the Premier League standings with 15 points from nine matches.
The Reds suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Arsenal on Sunday, adding to concerns over their performances this season.
