Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabian Ruiz has shared his thoughts following his team's 4-2 victory over Barcelona in the third round of the UEFA Champions League league phase.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing UEFA's official website, the Spanish international expressed satisfaction with the result while acknowledging the quality of the opposition.
"I'm happy with the performance and the victory. We faced an excellent opponent. In the first half, we were fresher, which explains the number of turnovers. They were also very good. We felt comfortable defending in a mid-block," Ruiz said.
The midfielder emphasized that despite PSG's impressive performance against one of Europe's leading clubs, the French champions do not consider themselves superior to their rivals.
"We don't feel superior to any team, but we believe in ourselves, in everyone who starts and everyone who comes off the bench. There is still a long way to go," he added.
PSG's victory at the Parc des Princes marked another important step in their Champions League campaign. The defending champions have now won all three of their opening matches, collecting nine points and maintaining their perfect record in the league phase.
The result also underlined the Parisian side's attacking strength and squad depth as they continue their pursuit of another European title.
