Barcelona to File UEFA Complaint Over PSG Fans' Provocative Banner

Barcelona are planning to lodge an official complaint with UEFA over a provocative banner displayed by Paris Saint-Germain supporters ahead of their Champions League league-phase clash, which ended in a 4-2 victory for the French side.

As reported by İdman.Biz, citing Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia, the Catalan club is unhappy with a pre-match display organized by PSG fans at the Parc des Princes during Tuesday's third-round encounter.

Before kick-off, home supporters unveiled a large banner depicting a masked figure using a chainsaw to cut through Barcelona's club crest. The display was accompanied by the words "Parisian Massacre."

PSG supporters also used pyrotechnics to simulate sparks flying from the chainsaw, adding to the dramatic and controversial nature of the choreography.

Barcelona reportedly consider the display provocative and intend to bring the matter to UEFA's attention. It remains unclear whether European football's governing body will open disciplinary proceedings against the French champions.

The incident overshadowed the build-up to one of the most anticipated fixtures of the Champions League's third round. On the pitch, defending champions PSG secured an impressive 4-2 victory despite Barcelona twice drawing level.

UEFA regulations prohibit offensive or provocative messages at football matches, and clubs can face disciplinary action over inappropriate behavior by their supporters.
