Borussia Dortmund have published an entertaining video interview with Sabah forward Joy-Lance Mickels ahead of the two clubs' UEFA Champions League encounter in Baku.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the German-born attacker answered a series of questions about his career, his experiences in Azerbaijan and his memories of Borussia Dortmund.
Asked why a German footballer had ended up playing in Azerbaijan, Mickels gave a brief and humorous response.
"It didn't work out in Germany," he said.
When questioned about Sabah's greatest strength, the forward highlighted the team's attacking line.
Mickels was also asked about the most important word in Azerbaijani football. He replied with the Azerbaijani expression meaning "don't rush" before adding the German word "ruhig", meaning "calm".
The conversation then turned to his previous encounters with Borussia Dortmund. Mickels revealed that he had faced the club's reserve team but had never played against the senior side.
Having previously represented Borussia Mönchengladbach, the forward was also asked which Borussia was better.
"Once Borussia, always Borussia," he replied diplomatically.
Reflecting on his career, Mickels mentioned spells with several clubs, including Borussia Mönchengladbach, Schalke, Alemannia Aachen, Nordhausen, Kaiserslautern, MVV Maastricht, Táborsko and Saudi Arabian side Al-Faisaly, before eventually returning to Sabah.
Asked to name the greatest Borussia Dortmund player of all time, the attacker selected former club captain Marco Reus.
Mickels also spoke enthusiastically about his experience of playing at Old Trafford, Manchester United's iconic home stadium, during the opening round of this season's Champions League.
He described United as a magnificent club that has been home to some of football's greatest players.
According to Mickels, stepping onto the pitch at Old Trafford and hearing the Champions League anthem was an unforgettable experience that was almost impossible to put into words.
Looking ahead to the meeting between Sabah and Borussia Dortmund, the forward expressed hope for a positive outcome for both teams.
Sabah are scheduled to host Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League league phase on October 21. The match will kick off at 20:45 Baku time at the Baku Olympic Stadium.
