Teenage Milan star breaks European record with Europa League hat-trick

AC Milan winger Alphadjo Cissé has made history by scoring a hat-trick in his team's emphatic 4-0 away victory over Red Bull Salzburg in the second round of the UEFA Europa League league phase.

As reported by İdman.Biz, the Italian youngster achieved the remarkable feat on October 15, 2026, at the age of just 19 years and 358 days.

According to statistics provider Opta Sport, Cissé became the youngest Italian player to score three goals in a single match in European club competition.

Remarkably, the previous record had stood for only two days. On October 13, Club Brugge's Italian-German striker Nicolò Tresoldi scored a hat-trick against Inter Milan in a thrilling 4-3 Champions League encounter. Tresoldi was 22 years and 54 days old at the time.

Before Tresoldi's achievement, the record had belonged to Italian football legend Alessandro Del Piero for more than 28 years.

The former Juventus captain scored three goals against Monaco in a 4-1 victory in the first leg of the 1997/98 Champions League semifinals. Del Piero was 23 years and 144 days old when he delivered that memorable performance.

Cissé's achievement means the long-standing benchmark has now been surpassed twice in the space of just 48 hours.

The 4-0 victory also provided Milan with an important result in the early stages of the Europa League league phase, while Cissé's historic performance highlighted his growing potential on the European stage.
