Aston Villa midfielder Johan Manzambi made a memorable UEFA Champions League debut on October 14, scoring in his team's emphatic 6-0 victory over Fenerbahce in the second round of the 2026/27 league phase.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the Swiss footballer opened the scoring for the Birmingham club on the day he celebrated his 21st birthday.
With his goal, Manzambi matched an exceptionally rare Champions League achievement. Only one player had previously scored on his birthday while making his debut in the competition.
That player was Brazilian midfielder Romulo, who found the net for Spartak Moscow against Barcelona on September 19, 2012, the day he turned 22.
Fourteen years later, Manzambi became the second player to accomplish the remarkable feat, adding a personal milestone to Aston Villa's dominant performance against the Turkish giants.
The 6-0 victory also marked Aston Villa's biggest-ever win in European competition.
