On October 5-6, the opening ceremony of the Azerbaijan Youth Weightlifting Championship was held in the competition hall of the Weightlifting Academy located in Shuvelan settlement.
Idman.biz informs that at the event, the general secretary of the Azerbaijan Weightlifting Federation Rizvan Rasulov said that the goal of organizing the Championship is to ensure mass participation.
He said that the competition is important for the promotion and development of weightlifting sports in cities, regions, towns and villages. It also serves to increase and improve the skill level of athletes, to identify promising weightlifters, and to select technically trained athletes for national teams.
Then the National Anthem of Azerbaijan was played and the competition was declared open.
In the end, the vice-president of the federation, Firdovsi Umudov, presented two referees - Sabina Rzayeva and Ilham Huseynova with the referee's manuals of the international level.
