European Champion scores his first goal in European Competitions - VIDEO

Francesco Acerbi rescued Inter from defeat against Barcelona (3–3) by scoring in the 90+3rd minute, ensuring the match went into extra time, which ultimately worked in Inter’s favor. Remarkably, the 37-year-old center-back scored his first-ever goal in European competitions in what was his 66th appearance.

This was also Acerbi’s first goal of the season, Idman.biz reports.

Acerbi joined Inter initially on loan in the 2022 season and has been a key part of the Milan side ever since.

He is best known for his spells with Sassuolo (2013–2018) and Lazio (2018–2022). Acerbi also played 10 matches for AC Milan during the 2012/13 season. Notably, during the 2013/14 campaign, he underwent treatment for cancer.

Between 2014 and 2023, Acerbi earned 34 caps for the Italian national team, scoring once, and was part of the squad that won EURO 2020.
