He commented on the cancellation of his lifetime disqualification. According to Suleymanov, his brother presented his letter to the president of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) in November 2022: "Last month, a commission was formed in this regard, and the issue was discussed for a month. In the end, they canceled the punishment. Of course, this news is a happy thing for the state of Azerbaijan and for me. Because this was a stain on our name. As a person who has dedicated my life to sports, my successes have always been in the shadows. The reason for this was that I was disqualified for life. Thankfully, now I can proudly say that I have made a lot of contributions to the sports field of Azerbaijan. Clouds, hang over me, have already gone."
Giving information about his future plans, the veteran weightlifter emphasized that he had stopped his activity in this sport for a long time: "After that, I think of working as a coach and a judge. We will negotiate with the Azerbaijan Weightlifting Federation. I think they will agree with me in this area. This sport is our family tradition."
It should be noted that Süleymanov, who was sentenced to 4 years in September 2010, returned early after this disqualification was eased, but in 2013 he was "stuck" in doping again. As a second punishment, he was given a lifetime disqualification. 2 days ago, this punishment on the athlete was canceled by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF).
