The Davis Cup tennis tournament has officially kicked off in Tirana, the capital of Albania.
Azerbaijan is being represented at the event by Tamerlan Azizov, Kenan Gasimov, and Elvin Hashimov, Idman.biz reports.
The opening day proved successful for the Azerbaijani team, as they secured a solid win against Andorra. Tamerlan Azizov defeated Eric Cervos Noguer in straight sets, 2:0 (6:1, 6:3). Kenan Gasimov also earned a commanding victory over Damyen Jelaber, 2:0 (6:1, 6:0).
The Azerbaijani pair triumphed in the doubles match as well, with Azizov and Gasimov defeating the Cervos Noguer – Damien Gelabert duo, 2:0 (6:2, 6:4).
