Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic has commented on his shock defeat to Argentina's Mariano Navone in the first round of the US Open.
As reported by İdman.Biz, Djokovic admitted that he experienced serious physical problems during the match.
"I had a terrible feeling on the court. Unfortunately, this has been following me in almost every match this year. Vomiting, nausea, then my whole body seems to start shutting down – cramps and pain," Djokovic was quoted as saying by the ATP website.
The Serbian also gave credit to Navone for his performance.
"I don't want to take this victory away from him. Congratulations to him, he's a great guy and a fighter. But I didn't enjoy playing myself," Djokovic said.
Navone defeated Djokovic in five sets – 7:6 (7:5), 5:7, 4:6, 6:2, 6:1. The result saw Djokovic eliminated in the first round of the US Open for the first time in his career.
