Five-time Grand Slam champion Jannik Sinner has congratulated fellow Italian Andrea Kimi Antonelli on securing his maiden Formula 1 world championship title.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing Sky Sports, the Italian tennis star reacted enthusiastically to the 20-year-old Mercedes driver's achievement following the Mexican Grand Prix.
"Kimi, what have you just achieved?! Congratulations on your first world championship title!" Sinner said.
According to the report, Antonelli secured the 2026 Formula 1 championship ahead of schedule, becoming the youngest world champion in the history of the sport.
The Italian finished third at the Mexican Grand Prix on November 1, crossing the line 4.006 seconds behind race winner Max Verstappen.
The four-time world champion from Red Bull claimed victory in Mexico City, while Ferrari's seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton finished second, just 0.799 seconds behind Verstappen.
Antonelli secured the title at the age of 20 years and 68 days, breaking Sebastian Vettel's previous record. He also became the first Italian Formula 1 world champion since Alberto Ascari in 1953.
