An international European tennis tournament dedicated to the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev has kicked off, organized jointly by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Tennis Federation.
The competition is taking place at the Baku Tennis Academy, featuring athletes aged 14–16 from 13 countries, Idman.biz reports.
There are 58 boys and girls competing in the 14-year-old category and 39 players in the 16-year-old category.
Among the local athletes, Raul Malikov, Mikayil Feyzullayev, Nazim Malikov, and among the girls, Medina Gurbanova, Ayshan Karimli, and Jahan Ismayilova are competing for the title.
The tournament will conclude on May 10.
