A meeting was held in the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation.
Idman.biz informs that at the meeting, the president of the organization Khanlar Fatiyev, sports director, Hungarian expert Ivan Petrov, general secretary Fakhri Hasanov, his deputy Tamerlan Abdullazada, executive director Kamran Huseynov, head coach of the national team Rashad Abdurrahmanov discussed the development of water sports in Azerbaijan, including swimming.
The president of the federation emphasized that swimming has developed in Azerbaijan in recent years, and the interest of children and young people in this sport has increased significantly. He said that today the formation of the national team from local athletes and their fighting for high places in international competitions and returning with medals indicates that their work is on the upward trend: "Today, we have teenagers who are actively engaged in swimming in all regions of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Youth and Sports organizes various competitions together with the federation in order to increase the interest in this sport. All these steps have allowed the formation of a positive trend in the development of swimming."
Khanlar Fatiyev, who positively evaluated the work done and his activity after the appointment of the sports director of the Hungarian specialist to the federation, emphasized that a more professional approach should be taken from now on, and that it is necessary to work with greater effort to increase the qualifications of both athletes and coaches.
He gave the task of further strengthening the work in identifying young, promising and capable athletes, investigating and identifying them locally as well as in the regions, forming the composition of the national team from professional athletes.
