Azerbaijan's junior swimmers won 5 medals at the international tournament in Kaposvar, Hungary.
Idman.biz reports that 4 of these awards were gold and 1 was silver.
One of the team members, Suleyman Ismayilzade reached the finish line first in 1500 m freestyle swimming. He won the gold medal with a time of 16:10.99 and broke the Azerbaijani record with 721 points.
Ismayilzade was the first in 400 m freestyle swimming at 04:08.42. With 695 points, he set another record among Azerbaijani teenagers.
Ogtay Huseynov also won a gold medal at the international tournament at the expense of our national team. He took first place in 400 m medley swimming with a time of 4:49.32. He won the silver medal in freestyle swimming for the same distance with a time of 4:13.92.
Said Hamidov also climbed to the highest step of the podium. He beat everyone in the 400m freestyle swimming at 4:19.64. Competitions will continue today.
It should be noted that 3 other members of our national team - Ramil Valizade, Rashad Alguliyev and Abdurrahman Rustamov - are trying their strength in the international youth tournament held in Nis, Serbia. Ramil Valizade and Abdurrahman Rustamov qualified for the finals in the 50 and 200-meter butterfly, and Rashad Alguliyev in the 100-meter backstroke, along with the athletes of Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia, and Macedonia, in these license competitions for the World Championship and the Olympic Games.
