Germany head coach Jürgen Klopp has addressed supporters ahead of his first match in charge of the national team.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the 59-year-old expressed his excitement about beginning a new chapter in his coaching career and thanked Germany fans for their support around the world.
"Hello. Some of you know me, some of you don't. I'm the new Germany coach and I'm very happy about it. I know you support us everywhere, all over the world. Thank you for that. Maybe we'll see each other at the stadium. I can't wait to get started. Let's go," Klopp said in a message shared by the German Football Association.
Klopp was appointed Germany head coach in July and officially took charge on August 15, succeeding Julian Nagelsmann. He signed a four-year contract that runs through UEFA EURO 2028 and the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
His first match will come against the Netherlands at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam on September 24. The UEFA Nations League encounter kicks off at 20:45 CEST (22:45 Baku time). Germany will then host Greece in Augsburg on September 27.
For his first international window, Klopp took the unusual step of selecting 44 players across two separate squads for Germany's opening four Nations League matches. The first 24-man group will be available for the games against the Netherlands and Greece, while another group will be involved in the subsequent fixtures against Serbia and Greece.
