At the ceremony, Olympic silver medalist, Taekwondo player Gashim Magomedov and Zeynab Hummatova, member of Azerbaijan's group gymnastics team, who took 5th place in the rhythmic gymnastics competition, waved the national flag.
Azerbaijan finished the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games with 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals and was 30th in the list of medals.
Among those scheduled to perform are American music artists Billie Eilish, H.E.R., Snoop Dogg and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Paris is handing over the Summer Olympics to Los Angeles.
