The 26th Karate World Championship has ended in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
Idman.biz reports that on the last day of the tournament, the Azerbaijani national team won a medal.
Paralympian Emiliya Mitlinova was on the highest level of the victory podium in the World Championship. She defeated her Czech opponent Veronika Kemenska in the final.
The men's team of Azerbaijan was very close to finishing the tournament with a medal but lost to Italy in the match for bronze.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team finished the World Championship with two gold medals. Irina Zaretska (68) won the first gold medal for the team.
