- We won the international tournament in Novosibirsk region in Russia. How would you interpret your victory?
- The race was well organized. The audience in the arena was great. I felt like I was in the World or European Championship.
- Did you expect to win a gold medal beforehand?
- I was well prepared for the race. I felt that I will not return without a medal. My feelings did not mislead me either. I am happy that I was awarded the gold medal. I knew my opponents in advance, because we have met them before. It is difficult to fight with strangers, because you don't know about them.
- What are your plans for the future?
- I am preparing for the Premier League competition that will take place in Egypt on April 19-21. Athletes in the top 32 in the world ranking will compete here. I am among these karate players. Our preparations continue. We will leave for Egypt on April 17. I hope this race will be very successful for me.
- Novosibirsk Azerbaijan team won 3 medals in kumite and 1 medal in kata. What can you say about the performance of the team?
- Our karate players showed real fighting spirit and deserved this medal. They fought until the end. They did not give up their determination for a second. As a result, Ramila Heydarova was awarded silver in kata, Huseyn Mammadli (67 kg) and Murad Hajizade (84 kg) were awarded bronze in kumite.
