Cadillac will make its Formula 1 debut in 2026, bringing a new American presence to the grid and signing two seasoned drivers, Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas, according to ESPN and Motorsport.com.
Idman.biz, citing Reuters, reports that a formal announcement is expected later this week.
The entry, run under General Motors’ Cadillac brand, will mark just the second American-centered F1 team in history. Despite speculation about an American driver, Cadillac opted for experience, securing Perez, a six-time race winner who finished second in the 2023 championship before parting ways with Red Bull at the end of 2024. The 35-year-old Mexican has been a consistent podium contender since joining F1 in 2011.
Bottas, also 35, brings a wealth of experience from his years with Williams, Mercedes, Alfa Romeo and Sauber. The Finnish driver has multiple top-three championship finishes, including runner-up spots in 2019 and 2020. Cadillac’s entry raises the stakes for 2026, adding a fresh dynamic to F1’s competitive field.
