Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has shared his thoughts ahead of the final Dutch Grand Prix, which will be held at the Zandvoort circuit.
According to İdman.Biz, the four-time world champion said that racing in front of his home fans does not give him any extra motivation.
"I never have any extra motivation. Otherwise, it would mean that I am not motivated enough at other races. I always want to do my job well. I enjoy racing here. I have received incredible support over the years and achieved good results. I am just looking forward to this weekend and want to enjoy it," Verstappen said.
Since Zandvoort returned to the Formula 1 calendar in 2021, Verstappen has won the first three races held there. In 2024 and 2025, the Dutchman finished second. His average finishing position at the circuit is therefore 1.4.
The 2026 Dutch Grand Prix will be the final Formula 1 race at Zandvoort for the foreseeable future. The race weekend will take place from August 21 to 23 and will feature a sprint for the first time.
Verstappen stressed that the circuit's removal from the Formula 1 calendar will not affect his relationship with Zandvoort.
"The circuit isn't going anywhere. If I want to race there, I can do it. Maybe it won't be in Formula 1 anymore, but I will keep coming there even after I finish my Formula 1 career," the Dutch driver added.
The main race of the Dutch Grand Prix will take place on August 23.
