Jose Mourinho shared his first impressions after receiving an offer from Benfica.
As reported by Idman.biz, in an interview with journalists upon arriving in Lisbon, he stated that he immediately accepted the offer to join the club:
"When I was offered the chance to coach Benfica, I didn’t hesitate and said: ‘Yes, I want to, I’m interested.’ What coach would say no to Benfica? Certainly not me."
According to Record, the Portuguese coach has already agreed to the terms of a two-year contract with the club. At the moment, both parties are finalizing the last details concerning the coaching staff.
Previously, Benfica dismissed Bruno Lage from his position as head coach following a shocking 3–2 defeat to Qarabag in the Champions League on September 17.
Mourinho is expected to be officially presented as Benfica's new head coach on September 18, immediately after signing the contract.
