“We aim to win the tournament.”
These were the words of Orkhan Mammadov, President of the Azerbaijan Minifootball Federation, in a statement to journalists, as Idman.biz reports.
Speaking about the preparations for the upcoming Minifootball World Championship to be held in Baku, Mammadov noted that the national team is continuing its training. “We’ve already taken part in international tournaments. Before the World Championship kicks off, we’ll play our final match against the United Arab Emirates. Since the tournament is being held in Baku, fan expectations are high—and we share those expectations as the organizing body. We’ve set our sights on success,” he said.
Mammadov also acknowledged the level of competition: “This is a world championship, and the rivalry will be intense. In my opinion, finishing in the top three would be a significant achievement for us.”
The championship will take place from May 21 to June 1.
